Taking a walk down Lexington Avenue to our favorite diner (Scotty's Diner) on a mildly cold winter day. We walk past the Chrysler building and several businesses. On 42nd & Lexington NYPD is working hard directing traffic. Just your typical New York City day.
Today we take a look at the next express station along the IRT Lexington Avenue Line, which is 14th Street–Union Square. This station lies below the Union Square Park and originally opened in 1904 as part of the first IRT subway line. It is an express station and is served by (4), (5) and (6) trains. The BMT Canarsie and Broadway Lines also have a station here, but they are not shown in this film. We first take a look above ground at the beautiful neighborhood and park. We then move underground. The station has a few interesting aspects. It lies in a pretty tight curve and its downtown and uptown platforms are shifted significantly. Also because of the curve, the downtown platform is equipped with moving platforms that extend to the subway car in order to bridge the gap between the train...

Myself Lloyd Davis and Matt Jones were being judged for the BEDA entertainment team of the year in 2000. We won out of all the clubs in the UK. This is the video we had to produce. I spent weeks from starting at the club to bring the sound and lighting back to full effect. Many days on scaffolding towers and cleaning lenses and changing lamps finally paid off.
"OffTheCharts!" is at http://offthechartsradio.com! Come listen for free! Wonderful late-1960's psych-rock sound from Lexington Avenue Local. A cover of "Along Comes Mary", made famous by the Association. Both this Promo and stock copy is backed with "Listen Everybody". Unfortunately, this Promo is mono only. I believe this is the only record released by the band. I've been looking and researching to see if there is an album by these guys for years, but to no avail. No info on the band either anywhere. © 1968 Epic Records

This is the descent to the F train at Lex and 63rd. This station is the deepest in the NYCTA and there is even a tunnel under the F line which makes this station even deeper. It actually takes a few minutes just to decend or come up from the station.
The Lexington Ave. El is a remnant of the old Brooklyn Elevated RR (MAIN LINE) which was Brooklyn's first real el, opening in 1885. This line in it's original extent , started at the fulton ferry and ran along YORK ST., HUDSON AVE, PARK AVE , GRAND AVE , LEXINGTON AVE. & BROADWAY to eastern pkway .. Between 1889 &1891 the Park Ave segment was eliminated, while the part on YORK ST & HUDSON AVE. was abandon in 1904. The GRAND AVE & LEXINGTON AVE portion became the LEXINGTON AVE. EL , which ran until 1950. . the BROADWAY part became part of the BROADWAY EL , since 1888 when they extended a line from Williamsburg Bklyn. Both the LEXINGTON & THE 5TH AVE. / BAYRIDGE EL used a connection with the MYRTLE AVE. EL to reach the Brooklyn Br. area , Instead of the OLD BROOKLYN ELEVAT...
In an excellent example of proper service management by the RCC (Rail Control Center), two 3 trains were rerouted via the 5 line to East 180th Street. This was done to avoid causing extreme congestion in Brooklyn after a track fire in the Clark St Tube disrupted 2 and 3 line service. Enjoy! Today's film shows some shots of the IRT Lexington Avenue Line at Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall Station. This station is part of the oldest subway line in New York, which opened in October 1904 and was operated by the Interborough Rapid Transit (IRT) Company. Today it is served by (4) and (5) express trains and (6) local trains, the latter of which terminates at this station. This film first shows some shots above ground (you can see the Manhattan Municipal Building, Surrogate's Court, and some of the high-rise buildings of Lower Manhattan), before we move underground to the platforms of the Lexington Avenue Line. Enjoy! Filmed on 8 March 2015.
Taken: February 19, 2017 PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BOX! Due to construction on the IND 6th Avenue Line, there is no (D) or (F) train service at all on the line. As a result, (F) trains ran via the (Q) between Lexington Av-63rd St and Canal St and then via the (D) between Atlantic Av-Barclays Center to Stillwell Avenue. This caused severe traffic on the Broadway Express line. I decided to film this station for a station tour because I had no time to do this last month due to a shortage of time, however, I got to film this video, so I hope you all enjoy the video! Without further ado, here come the time stamps. A glimpse of the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 63rd Street before entering the station @ 0:00 - 0:55 A small tour of the upper level (Downtown platform) of the station ...

125th St (456) This is one of the famous 125th St subway stops in NYC. Welcome to Harlem! Totally different makeup of crowd up here, it's primarily minorities I believe. It's a different flavor, but you still get the big name stores and restaurants out here. Definitely worth a visit.
